Your expertise should include expert knowledge of young children’s nutritional needs and dietary guidelines, mastery of safe food handling and hygiene practices, skilled menu planning for diverse dietary requirements (including food allergies and intolerances), natural ability to communicate and collaborate with our educators and leadership team, and strong organisation skills to keep our service kitchen running smoothly.

About you:
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
- A certificate in Food Handling
- Childcare qualification (not required for the role, however, would be of benefit).
- Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
- Current Working with Children Check and Child Protection Certificate
- Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
- Attention to detail and high standards for environmental presentation
- A confident and warm manner with families, team and the community
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A desire to leave a positive legacy for the enrolled children and their associated community
- Commitment to maintaining current knowledge and attend additional training as necessary
- Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Service Director
- A desire and ability to support and promote Christian values such as generosity, courage, love, respect, hope and peace
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a seasonal rotating menu in accordance with the Centre’s nutrition policy guidelines and the Healthy Eating Advisory Service for all children, including children with allergies and intolerances.
- Provide a variety of nutritious foods suitable for children aged six weeks to six years.
- Ensure the presentation of food is exciting, appealing to the senses, and encourages autonomy for children when they engage in everyday mealtime routines.
- Complete weekly ordering as per the current menu.
- Ensure the highest-level health and safety standards are always maintained.
- Reporting and compliance per the Food Safety Plan.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and confidence in managing a kitchen.
- Ensure the kitchen and appliances are maintained and well looked after.
- Seek and evaluate regular feedback from children, educators, and families on the menu offering.
